Density Altitude Warning is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use our iOS application and website.
What we collect: Aircraft make/model, registration, runway requirements, max density altitude, climb rate (optional).
How stored: Locally on your device via Core Data encryption. iCloud sync is optional — if enabled in iOS Settings, your profiles sync to your iCloud account for restore purposes only.
Deletion: Aircraft profiles are deleted from your device and iCloud when you delete them in the App.
We request live weather observations from NOAA Aviation Weather Center for selected airports. The only data we send is the airport ICAO code (e.g., "KJFK") — no personal data is transmitted.
METAR data is cached locally for 2 hours to reduce API calls and improve offline performance. We use NOAA (primary) and CheckWX (fallback).
Apple handles all payment processing via StoreKit 2. We store only whether you have an active Premium subscription — locally on your device. We never see or store your payment information.
If enabled, the App may report crash logs (stack trace, device model, iOS version — no personal data or location). You can opt out at any time: Settings → Density Altitude Warning → Diagnostics.
When you join our beta waitlist or contact us via the website, we collect your email address and, if provided voluntarily, your name and aircraft type. This is used solely to communicate about the Density Altitude Warning app.

This App is designed for licensed pilots and aviation professionals (age 18+). We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. If we learn we have collected information from a child under 13, we will delete it immediately.

When you submit your email via our beta waitlist or contact form at ThinAir.io, you are providing explicit consent to receive product updates and aviation safety communications related to Density Altitude Warning.
You may unsubscribe at any time by clicking the unsubscribe link in any email, or by contacting us directly. Upon request, we will permanently delete your information from our records within 30 days.
We may update this Privacy Policy as the App evolves. We will notify you of material changes via in-App notification or email (if you have provided one). Your continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
The effective date at the top of this page will always reflect the most recent revision.
